Tuesday was a busy day for the Vanderbilt football staff who extended several offers to potential future Commodores. Derek Mason likes tall, hard-hitting, tenacious safeties and he has found one in the St. Louis, Missouri area.
Dallas Craddieth, a gifted player from football powerhouse Hazelwood Central high school picked up an offer from Vanderbilt on Tuesday. Craddieth has already piled up an impressive list of power conference offers including the likes of Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Iowa, Illinois, and Syracuse, to name a few. Looking at his video he's everything you want in a safety. Great speed with the ability to make bone-jarring tackles, in a similar style as former (hate to use that word!) Vandy linebacker Zach Cunningham. He's also getting interest from teams like Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
In a nutshell, he looks like a long-shot for Vanderbilt to get but they took the first step by offering him. For what it's worth, Vanderbilt has a better shot gaining the services of elite defensive players due to Mason's notoriety for coaching great defenses and developing top-notch defensive players who have gone on to successful NFL careers.
