The Vanderbilt staff picked up another commit for the 2017 class when Dodge City Community College offensive lineman Saige Young announced he was headed to Nashville on Sunday evening.
Saige Young, who visited Vanderbilt over the weekend, tweeted, "It's been a long, stressful process but I really enjoyed it! So with that being said I will be continuing my academic and football career at Vanderbilt University."
Young, who played prep ball in Lexington, Ky., at Woodford County high school, plans to enroll at Vanderbilt for summer classes. That should help the burly lineman get stronger and leaner in preparation for the 2017 season. With the graduation of Cole Hardin and Barrett Gouger, Young appears to have the physical tools to contribute in his first season at Vandy. His season of junior college ball likely provided him valuable experience to prepare him for power conference football.
