One of Vanderbilt top targets for the 2018 football recruiting class visited with the Commodores on Sunday. Camron Johnson, a local star at Brentwood Academy, is a 4-star wide receiver who has numerous power five offers.
Johnson earlier this year told VandyMania that "Vanderbilt definitely has a shot" at gaining his services. The recent visit and positive comments is an indication that his statement wasn't just eyewash.
The Commodores are working hard to improve their offense and upgrade their passing attack. The addition of the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Johnson would certainly be a major step in Vanderbilt achieving their goal of obtaining a high-powered passing game. The fact that Vanderbilt has a top notch quarterback commit in 4-star signal caller Allan Walters shouldn't hurt their cause either.
Some of the schools that are also after Johnson include LSU, Louisville, South Carolina, Tennessee, Purdue, and Duke.
