Vanderbilt gained another impressive commit on Friday night when Virginia defensive back Dashaun Jerkins announced he would wear the Black & Gold of the Commodores.
Jerkins, who attended a Vanderbilt football camp on Friday night, announced his commitment on Twitter.
"After having a great camp tonight, followed by a great conversation with my coaches and parents I would like to announce that I will be attending Vanderbilt University after my senior year!"
Jerkins has a solid list of college offers including Maryland, North Carolina, Cincinnati, Louisville, N.C. State, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers and Syracuse. He also had interest from Penn State and national champion Clemson.
As a junior Jerkins earned first team All-Conference honors at Woodbridge high school in Virginia. He finished the season with 60 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception.
Jerkins' commitment is the Commodores' 11th of the 2018 recruiting class. The Vanderbilt staff is expected to sign up to 20 players. For a complete list of Vanderbilt 2018 commits click HERE.
