TEMPE, Ariz. (VUAD)-- Number five/six ranked Arizona State outscored the Commodores 15-2 to start the second half and pulled away with a 76-64 win over Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz. Freshman Saben Lee led Vanderbilt with a career-high 24 points on Sunday.
Other keys scorers for Vanderbilt included Joe Toye with 14 points. Jeff Roberson had seven points and seven rebounds. The Commodores went just 4 of 31 (12.9%) from 3-point range for the game.
Vanderbilt led for most of the first half until a three-pointer by the Sun Devils' Tra Holder that gave Arizona State a 30-29 lead at the half. The Sun Devils' then went on their second-half run to keep the Commodores at bay.
Arizona State was led by Holder, who scored a game-high 25 points. Shannon Evans II also added 15 points for the Sun Devils.
The Commodores return to action on Wednesday night against Houston Baptist at 6 p.m. CT at Memorial Gym.
